FOR SERVICE PROVIDERSTechnical Assistance
Service providers who deal with low-income clients and need help with an immigration law question or issue are welcome to call ILAP with questions or may refer their clients to ILAP for a consultation. Service providers should give their clients information about our legal intake process.
In-Service Trainings / Educational Workshops
ILAP offer workshops for service providers who assist Maine’s low-income immigrants. Educators, social workers, medical professionals, domestic violence prevention program staff, staff of agencies working to end homelessness or assist with employment, are among the many service providers who have benefited from ILAP trainings. Trainings cover topics such as:
- Overview of immigration laws and immigrants in Maine;
- Immigration remedies for domestic violence and crime victims;
- Immigration status and access to services and benefits;
- Updates on immigration law reform proposals in Congress.
If you are a social services provider, attorney, business owner, or member of a community group and you would like to arrange to have ILAP provide an informational session on relevant laws or issues, please e-mail email@example.com, or call 207.780.1593.
