Take less than five minutes to advocate for Maine immigrant families!
May 8, 2020
So far, federal COVID-19 relief legislation has left out low- and middle-income immigrant families in devastating ways, including access to healthcare and economic relief. Right now, Congress is crafting the next relief package. Making our voices heard today and next week could make a difference, particularly with the Senate version.
Take five minutes NOW and call or email Maine's Senators and tell them you want the government to stop excluding immigrant families in COVID-19 relief! Ask them to fight for these demands in the next stimulus package:
Include ALL taxpayers in any cash relief benefits
Provide Medicaid coverage of COVID-19-related services to EVERYONE, regardless of immigration status
Stop enforcing the new public charge rule
Release individuals from detention and suspend immigration enforcement
Fund language access and outreach for COVID-19 related information
