ILAP in the News

Executive Director, Sue Roche, conveyed grave concern in a Portland Press Herald article about the ways the new "public charge" rule will impact those seeking permanent residency status and generate uncertainty and fear among many other communities. Sue also clarified details about the asylum process in this Bangor Daily News article. 

A Bates College article highlighted the college's partnership with ILAP's Lewiston office, taking an in-depth look at the role of student translators, including Emma Wheeler, who was recently recognized by ILAP as a "Lewiston Volunteer of the Year." 

ILAP's Asylum Outreach Attorney, Felix Hagenimana, gave a talk for MDI's Racial Equity Working Group, which was announced in this Mount Desert Island article.
