Support Justice for All
Civil legal aid helps people secure life-saving immigration protection, keeps people housed, protects people from domestic abuse, and so much more. However, in most cases there is no right to counsel, so Maine residents who can't afford a lawyer must face these legal problems without help.
Maine legislators are currently considering legislation (LD 564) that would help bridge the justice gap in Maine by investing in our state’s civil legal aid services.
Join ILAP in making clear that everyone, no matter how much money they have, should have access to legal assistance and justice. Use this easy tool to let your representatives know that you support justice for ALL: https://bit.ly/LD564Letters!
Shout out to the legislation’s sponsor, Senator Anne Carney, and our partners in Maine’s Justice Action Group for their incredible work on this campaign.
