Action Alert:
PROTECT HAITIAN TPS HOLDERS NOW
Despite the extreme and life-threatening conditions in Haiti, the Trump administration has moved to terminate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for the country. On June 25, the Supreme Court issued a decision paving the way for the administration to move forward. Hundreds of people in Maine, and more than 330,000 people across the country, are at risk of deportation to one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters.
Representative Golden, Representative Pingree, and Senator King all support a bill in Congress that would protect Haitian TPS holders, keep them safe from deportation to the devastating conditions in Haiti, and ensure they can work to support themselves and their families for at least the next three years. The bill already passed the House, with broad bipartisan support.
Join ILAP in calling on Senator Collins to join the rest of Maine’s delegation and support this life-saving legislation today!
