ILAP testified in support of Portland's proposal to give non-citizen residents the right to vote in municipal elections. ILAP partnered with the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine and let the City Council know what steps other cities have taken in order to safeguard their immigrant populations. This was covered in several articles: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. 

ILAP's Advocacy and Outreach Attorney wrote an op-ed for the Working Waterfront about the impact of current immigration policy on Maine.

Executive Director Sue Roche is quoted in a Maine Public story on concerns over proposed changes to the “public charge” rule and its effect on immigrants in Maine.
