Help us create a world where systems are rooted in justice and equity and where everyone belongs and thrives!
The administration’s unrelenting attacks on immigration have complicated ILAP’s work, and the federal budget reconciliation bill now makes an already unjust system even more punishing. It dramatically increases application fees while directing billions toward detention, deportation, and ICE enforcement.
For the people we serve — many fleeing violence, poverty, or persecution — this means higher barriers, longer delays, and greater risk of harm.
In response, we are launching the ILAP Resilience Fund: a flexible resource that strengthens our ability to meet urgent challenges and advocate fiercely for immigrant communities across Maine.
This fund supports ILAP’s ability to:
Respond to new policies and enforcement actions that threaten immigrant communities
Strengthen our legal representation, advocacy, and outreach
Build capacity to address increased application costs and complex case needs
Sustain our impact amid rising demand
This is not just about reacting. It’s about protecting dignity, restoring fairness, and ensuring Maine’s immigrants are not left to face this moment alone.
